Learning and Growth
The general underlying principle of adult human development is we grow psychologically through a decrease in egocentrism, by increasingly developing the ability to effectively appreciate, interpret and engage with others’ perspectives and worldviews. Overall this can be seen as a progression from egocentrism to ethnocentrism to world-centrism. It also speaks to an ability to deal with greater complexity. As we are habitual beings, embodied effective learning can be interpreted as the development of new habits to deal with that greater complexity.
These notes cover an introduction to some of the main concepts about learning and personal growth in this approach.
They do not offer a full explanation of these principles rather they provide a basic understanding of what is involved.
